Pro tip: Don't drop $200 on a torque wrench you found on some random aviation forum
I bought a used Snap-on torque wrench off a guy who swore it was calibrated last year, but my first bolt torque check on a Cessna 172 spinner came out 15 ft-lbs off. Now I'm out the cash and still using my buddy's CDI. Anyone else get burned on a secondhand tool deal that looked too good?

The real issue isn't the seller, it's that any torque wrench that gets thrown around in a toolbox can drift way faster than people admit. Did you have a way to test it before you handed over the cash?
