Serious question about torque wrenches on flight control rods
I was working on a 737 elevator cable rigging over in hangar 3 last Tuesday and my snap-on clicker started feeling mushy. Took it to the calibration shop and it was reading 40 inch-pounds low. Everyone swears by click type but I'm leaning toward dial wrenches now for critical stuff. Anybody else seen a new torque wrench drift that fast?

New Snap-on drifted that fast? Makes you wonder if it was made on a Friday afternoon before a long weekend. Dial gauges are harder to mess up but you gotta actually watch them while you're torquing. Good luck explaining to the QA guy why your reading was off when his eyeballs were on the gauge too. Might as well just switch to beam style and pretend you're in 1955.

Actually beam style torque wrenches came out in the 1930s, not 55.
