Told a guy his trim work was crooked once and he fixed it perfectly before I came back.

Man, @tyler_white42 that's a great point but I think the real key here is that he probably already knew it was off before you said anything. Some guys just have a weird sense of pride where they need permission to admit a mistake before fixing it. They'll stare at a gap for three hours waiting for someone to validate their suspicion.
