That time a museum guard lectured me about touching a 5,000 year old pot
I was at the British Museum in London last summer, right? And I got a little too close to this Sumerian display case. This guard, maybe 60 years old, walked over and said, "Sir, that pot has outlived entire empires. Don't be the one to knock it over." I just froze, apologized, and backed away slowly. Has anyone else gotten a memorable scolding from a museum staff member?

Yeah "that pot has outlived entire empires" is such a great line, totally changes how you see their job. Sounds like he was trying to protect history instead of just bossing you around.
