Went to a salvage yard in Phoenix and saw guys pulling engines with no safety gear

I was down at Pull-A-Part in Phoenix last Saturday grabbing a alternator for a 2015 Silverado. Walked past three guys wrenching on a lifted Ford with no jack stands, just a floor jack holding it up. Another dude was yanking a transmission with a ratchet strap and nobody was wearing gloves or glasses. I get that it's hot and people want to work fast, but one slip and that truck comes down on somebody. Have any of you seen sketchy stuff like that at your local yard?

Oh man, the no jack stands thing gives me the willies. I've seen guys crawling under cars on cinder blocks at my local yard and it's wild how casual they are about it. One good earthquake or a bump and that's it, game over.

One good earthquake" - a buddy of mine had a jack slip and the car landed on his arm. Broken in three places.
