Overheard a guy at the DMV say something that flipped my whole afternoon
I was stuck in line for like 90 minutes in Austin, ready to blow a gasket, and this older dude behind me tells his kid, 'A bad wait is just a forced pause, you get to choose what fills it.' So I stopped staring at the number board and actually listened to the conversations around me. Heard a lady explain she was there to fix a typo that made her look 20 years younger, which cracked me up. Turned the worst part of my day into a weird little people-watching session, and the lady at the counter even smiled when I told her the story. Has anyone else found that just shifting what you focus on for a few minutes makes the whole errand less painful?
