That frustrating 20 minute job that ate up half my Saturday
Was swapping a bottom bracket on a customer's 2018 Trek Domane. Figured it would be a quick 20 minute swap with my Park Tool BBT-90.3. Ended up fighting a seized cartridge for nearly 4 hours before I finally broke it loose with a pipe extension on the wrench. Has anyone else had a bottom bracket lock up that bad on a bike that wasn't even that old?

Oh man, I feel your pain on that one. Had a similar fight with a seized BB on a 2016 Cannondale Synapse that should have been a breeze. What finally worked for me (after way too much swearing) was hitting it with a heat gun for a few minutes then going straight to the breaker bar with a cheater pipe - the heat really loosens up the corrosion. Also found out the hard way that using an impact driver can crack the frame if you're not careful, so stick to slow, steady pressure with the pipe extension.
