Got laughed at for buying a vintage blazer with a giant mustard stain

I found this awesome 1970s Pendleton wool blazer at a thrift shop in Portland for $12. It had this huge mustard stain on the front panel that looked impossible to fix, but the lining was perfect and the fabric felt amazing. Took it to a dry cleaner who specialized in vintage stuff and they charged me $35 to treat it. Three days later I picked it up and the stain was completely gone, no damage to the wool at all. Has anyone else found a hidden gem that everyone else overlooked because of a small imperfection?

Honestly that's a great save. Reminds me of the time I grabbed a vintage leather jacket at a garage sale for five bucks cause the zipper was busted. Everyone passed on it but I just stitched in a new one from a craft store and it's been my go-to for years now.

Wait, did you get the jacket for a steal or what? That's exactly the kind of thing I love about thrifting. People see a small problem and just give up, but you saw the potential and put in a little work. @william407 probably knows that a busted zipper is like a free pass to a great deal, especially on quality leather. It's wild how a tiny repair can turn a five dollar jacket into a favorite piece you wear for years. Honestly, the best finds are the ones everyone else walks right past.
