Just noticed new sweeps are skipping the final wire brush pass on the flue

I was cleaning a job last Tuesday that another company had done 3 months ago and the creosote buildup was already thick near the top. I think they are missing that last brush stroke where you go back over the smoke shelf and throat area. Anyone else seeing this from newer guys in the area?

I mean I've watched a few of them skip the top and it seems fine to me honestly.

I saw a study somewhere that said it actually depends on the brand and how they package it. Some companies put the best stuff at the bottom to save money or something. @the_sarah, I've definitely noticed that with cheaper bags, the top is just filler and the good bits are hidden. You can sometimes get a better deal if you just dump the whole bag out and see what's really there.
