I actually PREFER the older lattice boom cranes over the newer hydraulic ones.
Back in 2018 I ran an old Manitowoc 3900 for a project near Pittsburgh and the boom feel was just better. These newer machines smooth everything out too much and you lose the actual sense of the load. Am I the only one who thinks the old steel lattice gives you way better feedback on the hook?

I read somewhere the old 3900 had a better feel because the boom was heavier and more rigid.
