Rant: That rigging class I took in Tulsa got one thing wrong

We spent a full Saturday going over tag line placement for swinging loads, but nobody mentioned how much a light breeze changes everything when you're working at 150 feet. Last week on a job near the river, we had a 4,000 pound beam start spinning slow and the tag line guy couldn't keep up. Has anyone else found that the textbook method just doesn't cut it outside a wind tunnel?
