Warning: My "secure" password manager locked me out for 6 hours

Last Tuesday I was updating my router settings and my password manager suddenly wouldn't open. I tried restarting my phone and clearing the cache but nothing worked. Turns out the app had a bug where if you don't sync across devices for 30 days it forces a full reauth. Problem was I changed my master password 2 months ago and forgot the new one because I never needed to type it again. Ended up on the phone with support for 45 minutes then had to do a factory reset of the vault from an old backup. Has anyone else had a password manager totally brick on them like this?

My brain's basically a sieve so I just write passwords on sticky notes now.

lol that's basically the system I've got going. The sticky note on my monitor is basically a museum of logins from the past 5 years. I just keep adding new ones around the edges like some kind of password crime scene. Pretty sure half of them are for accounts I don't even use anymore but I'm too scared to peel them off lmao
