Spent $85 on a drawing tablet that couldn't handle pressure sensitivity

I picked up a no-name tablet from an online flash sale thinking I'd save money. Turns out the stylus only registered two pressure levels: pressed and not pressed. My digital brushstrokes looked like I was using a permanent marker on cardboard. Anyone else get tricked by a budget tablet that just doesn't work for actual art?
