I was dead set against accessible parking apps until a trip to Chicago changed my mind

For years I thought those parking apps that show open accessible spots were just a gimmick. I usually just drive around and hope for the best. But last summer I had a doctor's appointment near Michigan Avenue and spent 30 minutes circling blocks. My friend made me try one of the apps on her phone. It showed me three open blue zone spots within two blocks, and I got one right away. That one experience saved me so much hassle that I use the app almost every time now. Has anyone else found a tool they were sure would be useless but turned out to be a real help?

Felt like a total hypocrite when I finally used one and realized it actually worked.

Whoa wait, you actually thought it wouldn't work? That's wild to me. I mean I get the whole hypocrisy angle for sure, we all have our stubborn moments. But isn't that just part of being human though? We get these ideas in our heads about something being a waste of time or a scam, then bam, it actually helps. I feel like half the stuff I avoided for years turned out to be useful once I gave it a shot.
