My DIY deck reno took a weird turn after I ignored a plumbing quote
Last month I decided to refinish my backyard deck in Phoenix. Got a quote from a plumber for $350 to move a sprinkler line, but I thought nah, I can handle it. Dug up the line myself, hit it with a shovel, and flooded half the yard before I found the shutoff. Ended up paying $500 for emergency service on a Saturday. The deck looks great though, no water damage at all. Anybody else try to save a quick buck and just make things worse?

$500 for a Saturday emergency call. Classic case of cheap now, expensive later.
