Pro tip: quit using safety wire pliers on everything and my knuckles stopped bleeding
Back when I was at the shop in Wichita, I used to twist safety wire on fuel line fittings with pliers for years because that's what the old guy taught me. Last month I switched to doing it by hand with a 6 inch pair of duckbills, and my cuts and scrapes dropped to almost nothing. The pliers always over-twisted and snapped the wire right at the hole, so I'd have to fish out the broken pigtail with a pick. Doing it by hand takes maybe 30 seconds longer per fitting but the twist is way more even and I haven't had one break since. Anyone else ditch the pliers for good or am I just slow?
