Chose between a bucket truck and climbing a 90 foot cottonwood in Boise, and the spurs won
Had a 90 foot cottonwood in Boise last Wednesday with a dead leader hanging right over a garage, and the homeowner wanted it gone cheap. I could've rented a bucket truck for $400 a day, or climbed it old school with spurs and a flip line. Went with the climb because the truck couldn't get past the fence gate anyway, and honestly it felt good to trust my gear instead of a boom. Took me two hours up and down but I dropped the leader clean in the driveway with zero marks on the roof. Any of you still climbing the big ones when the truck can't reach, or am I the only one left doing it the slow way?
