My climb line got way safer after I dumped the fancy rope in Des Moines last month
That $300 static line everyone raves about had me fighting half hitches all morning, so I switched back to my old 11mm polyester and finished my crown reduction in 3 hours flat, has anyone else found that the pricey stuff just makes simple work slower?

Different strokes, I guess. That fancy rope holds its shape way better for me on long descents, so I don't end up fighting it as much. Maybe your half hitches were more about the throwline you paired with it, or the bark on those oaks down there being extra grabby. The old 11mm is definitely more forgiving when your hands are stiff at 6am, though.
