Finally cataloged my 1,000th pottery shard from the dig site

Started sorting the field finds from last summer's excavation in Corinth last week, and hit 1,000 individual pieces yesterday. I honestly thought I'd be at maybe 700 by now, but the storage bins had way more than I remembered. It matters because 1,000 is the minimum sample size our lab needs to run the fabric analysis we've been waiting on. Took me six evenings and a lot of coffee, but the spreadsheet is finally done and color-coded. Has anyone else hit a random milestone like this during cataloging, or is it just me?

Wait, are you sure the minimum is 1,000 pieces? I did fabric analysis on a Corinth assemblage a few years back and our lab only asked for 500 per ware group, not 1,000 total. Maybe your lab uses a different method, but I'd double check before you assume you're clear to run it. Also, nice work on the spreadsheet, six evenings of sorting shards is no joke on the eyes. Color coding is smart, I wish I'd done that before my bins turned into a mess.
