Noticed the temple carvings in Palenque look way worse than 4 years ago
Honestly, I went back to Palenque this month after being there in 2021 and the difference is shocking. The glyphs on the Temple of the Inscriptions are noticeably more faded and chipped, probably from the heavy rain and humidity doing a number on the limestone. I talked to a local guide who said they're seeing erosion that used to take decades happen in just a few years now. Has anyone else noticed rapid deterioration at other sites, or is this just me?
