Vent: My phone bedtime was a mess until I set a hard stop

I figured late screens were fine, but I felt tired all day. After my doc said it messes with sleep, I now charge my phone away from bed and wake up clearer.

Bet you also "don't notice a difference" between coffee and decaf. It's that classic move of telling yourself the screen glow isn't doing anything while you're basically running on fumes by noon. The brain fog is real but you just get used to feeling like a zombie. It's like that meme where the dog is in the burning room saying "this is fine". You're the dog. The phone is the fire. I love the commitment to the bit, pretending you're the one person whose sleep isn't wrecked by blue light and doomscrolling.

My tablet has a blue light filter that kicks in at 9 PM. I read e-books on it for an hour in bed every night and fall asleep faster than when I try to just lie there in the dark. For me, the quiet distraction actually calms my brain down. The real sleep killer for most people is stress, not a little screen time. Charging your phone across the room just means you'll stare at the ceiling worrying about work instead.

Still scroll in bed sometimes... never noticed a difference though.
