Wasted $70 on a 'professional' star tracking mount from a no-name brand
Bought this mount off some random site that claimed it could handle my DSLR for long exposure shots. First night out in the backyard, it just spun in circles and kept losing the stars after about 10 seconds. Ended up throwing it in the bin after three frustrating attempts to calibrate it. Has anyone else fallen for those budget mount traps from random online stores?

I spent three hours in my backyard with a $45 "pro" star tracker from a random Chinese site, and after like 10 seconds of tracking it just spun off into the grass like a confused Roomba. Idk @hannahh53, I read the manual twice and it was basically just pictures of stars with arrows, so maybe I missed the part where it says "don't spin in circles." Maybe it's just me but I figure if a mount can't hold a target for longer than it takes to sneeze, that's not user error, that's a paperweight. Honestly though, I probably should have known better than to trust a site that spelled "astrophotography" wrong in the product title.
