The day I put diesel in a gas truck and blamed the pump for 20 minutes

So I'm at a station in Flagstaff, filling up my F-150 like I've done a hundred times. The nozzle clicks, I pay, and then it hits me that the handle was green but I swear I grabbed the black one. My buddy in the passenger seat just stares at me and says "dude, that's the diesel pump, look at the sticker right on the filler door." I spent a solid 20 minutes arguing with the station guy that their hoses were mislabeled before I finally opened my own gas cap and saw the little "Gasoline Only" tag staring back at me. Had to get it towed to a shop in town to drain the tank, cost me $240 and a whole day of embarrassment. Has anyone else ever made a fuel mix-up that obvious, or am I the only one who needs reading glasses for pump handles?
