Compared open vs enclosed transport for a 2015 Mustang from Denver to Seattle - the difference was wild
I shipped my car last month and got quotes for both open and enclosed carriers. The open transport was $950 from a broker in Colorado Springs. Enclosed was $1,450 from a guy who runs his own rig. I went with the open one and my car showed up with rock chips on the hood and a small gash on the front bumper. The driver said it happens sometimes with gravel on the highway. Should have just paid the extra 500 bucks honestly. Has anyone else had damage show up on open transport?

Lol $950 for open is actually pretty standard but that thing about it being from a broker changes things a bit. Brokers usually add their cut on top so the actual carrier might have been getting paid way less than that which could explain the damage.

Whoa wait, brokers actually pocket the difference even if the carrier does a bad job right? So the carrier gets the blame and the low pay while the broker walks away clean.
