Took me 6 weeks to figure out title paperwork on an out of state move
Bought a truck in Georgia back in March and needed it shipped up to Ohio. Simple job, or so I figured. The holdup was the title, since the seller had a lien that got paid off but the release never got filed right. My transport broker held the pickup for 3 weeks while I ran between the Georgia DMV and the lienholder, and I made 14 phone calls before anyone would touch it. Total time from deposit to delivery was 41 days, and the truck sat in a Walmart lot in Macon the whole stretch. If anyone has a checklist for buying a car out of state with a lien release, I would love to see it.
