Overheard a lead say pin pull tests are theater, is he right or just lazy?
He was arguing that we waste 2 hours a shift on 100 pin pulls during MD-80 harness checks when the real failure rate is maybe 1 in 3,000, so which matters more, following the book or catching the occasional bad crimp before it grounds a bird in Dallas?
