Unpopular opinion: I just read a report from the NTSB that said over 60% of general aviation incidents linked to avionics involved improper database updates, which is wild to me.
Found that stat buried in a safety bulletin from last month, and it makes me wonder if we're all getting enough training on the new subscription models for nav data.

That stat is kind of missing the point though... The real problem is pilots skipping the whole preflight check. You can have a perfect database and still mess up the box if you don't actually verify it's active for the flight. Seen guys load an approach with old data because they never hit the "load" button after the update finished. Training on subscriptions is one thing, but basic cockpit management is another.
