My neighbor in Tulsa told me my feeder was killing birds, so I watched it for 3 days straight
She stood at my fence on a Saturday morning and claimed the milo in my cheap mix was choking the finches, so I sat out there with my coffee for 3 days and counted 14 house sparrows and 2 cardinals eating it just fine, which makes me wonder if she was just mad about the seed hulls landing in her yard.
Watched my own feeder for a week after my brother said the same thing about milo. Saw chickadees and titmice just pick around it and toss the junk on the ground, not a single one gagging or choking. Turns out the hulls piling up under the feeder were what bugged him, not the birds at all. Now I get the no mess blend and he still complains about something else, so you can't win. Your neighbor probably just wants your mess out of her grass.
