My vacuum cleaner died in the middle of a $250 house cleaning job yesterday
I was halfway through wiping down baseboards at a regular client's house when my trusty old vacuum just stopped working with a loud grinding noise. No backup machine in the car (rookie mistake, I know) and the client was coming home in 2 hours. Has anyone else had a tool fail on them right when you needed it most and had to figure out a fix on the fly?

I read somewhere that a lot of cleaning pros keep an extra brush roll in their car for just this reason. But I guess if the whole motor dies you're kinda stuck, right?
