Rant: My air fryer gave me a bread loaf that looked like a meteorite
Tried making homemade bread in my air fryer last Tuesday thinking it'd be faster than the oven. Thing came out rock hard on the outside and raw dough in the middle, totally ruined my dinner plans. Has anyone else had a kitchen gadget just completely betray them like that?

Respectfully, air fryers aren't really built for baking a whole loaf of bread. They're basically small convection ovens that circulate hot air fast, which is great for crispy fries but terrible for giving dough time to rise and cook through. I've had good luck making rolls or flatbreads in mine since they're smaller and cook more evenly. Your mileage may vary but next time try cutting your dough into smaller pieces or just stick with the regular oven for full loaves.

Honestly I see people acting like you committed a war crime for trying a loaf in an air fryer and it's not that deep my dude. @thomas_johnson I get that it's not IDEAL but some of us don't have the space for a full oven or just want to experiment on a Tuesday night. It's bread not rocket science, you can still eat it even if it comes out a little dense or weird shaped. Yeah rolls are better but let people fail and learn without acting like they insulted your grandmother's kitchen. You're probably right about the science but the vibe feels a little gatekeepy for something as casual as air fryer bread.
