Found out my grandfather's brisket recipe was actually from a 1978 newspaper clipping in Amarillo

I was going through my late grandfather's stuff in his garage in Amarillo and found a yellowed newspaper clipping from 1978 tucked inside his old smoker manual. Turns out the brisket rub recipe he swore was a family secret for 40 years was printed in the local paper as a reader submission from some guy named Earl. I always thought our family had this special thing nobody else had, but nope, Earl from down the street apparently shared it with all of Amarillo back when Jimmy Carter was president. Anyone else dig up something like this and have to sit with it for a bit?
