Saw a stat that 70% of competition BBQ teams use the same rub brand and it kind of blew my mind
I was reading through the KCBS newsletter last week and they had a survey where 7 out of 10 teams admitted they buy the same off the shelf rub, which makes me wonder how much of winning is really skill vs just following the herd on seasoning.

70% huh, that number seems way too high for something that's supposed to be about individual creativity.

Wonder where they got that number from, because it doesn't match what I've seen in the creative communities I follow. People are still doing their own thing and making unique art, even if some are using AI tools to help brainstorm or fill in the boring parts.
