The old shop I started at used a spoke tension meter from the 70s

I saw one of those new digital spoke tension meters last week and it does in 10 seconds what used to take me 10 minutes of plucking and guessing. Has anyone else noticed how accurate these new ones are compared to the old analog stuff, or is it just me overthinking it?

The digital ones are almost scary accurate compared to the old needle waggle method. I still kinda trust the analog ones for consistency though (maybe just nostalgia talking). My buddy swears by his new meter but I caught him checking it against his analog the other day. Funny how we all adapt to new tools but keep one foot in the past, right?

I've seen too many digital meters give wrong readings on dirty connections to call them more accurate.
