Took me 3 weeks to figure out my chain kept slipping because of one dumb thing
My chain started skipping on the two steep hills on my ride to work in Portland and I figured it was just worn out, so I swapped it. Still skipped. Replaced the cassette. Still skipped. Turned out the derailleur hanger was bent maybe 2mm and I never even looked at it because I kept chasing the chain and gears. A shop straightened it in about 10 minutes for $15 and I felt like a total idiot for the 3 weeks of guessing. Anyone else ever fix the hard stuff and miss the obvious thing?
