Dropped $140 on a cheap ultrasonic cleaner for my vintage blazers and it dulled a 1950s wool tweed
I grabbed a $140 ultrasonic cleaner off a flash sale thinking it would gently lift grime out of a 1950s grey tweed I found at a shop in Portland. Two cycles later the nap went flat and the wool felt stiff like feltboard, so now it hangs in the closet as a $200 mistake. Has anyone here actually cleaned a vintage wool jacket at home without wrecking the weave, and what did you use?
