Went to an estate sale in Salem and changed my mind about pairing old slip joints with blazers
I always figured the whole matching a pocket knife to a jacket thing was kind of silly, just two hobbies stacked on top of each other. Then last Saturday I hit an estate sale in Salem and the guy's closet had a 1970s houndstooth blazer hanging right next to a felt roll with 9 old slip joints in it. I pulled out a little bone handled knife in the same brown and cream as the jacket check, and the widow told me he wore both to every family wedding for 30 years. Something about seeing them stored side by side got me. Now I'm wondering if anyone here actually picks a knife by their outfit or if I'm just sentimental about a dead guy's closet.
