Bought a $75 custom wooden dice tower at Gen Con and it's basically a paperweight now
I was walking the vendor hall at Gen Con in Indianapolis last August and this guy hand carving dice towers out of walnut talked me into one for $75. Got it home, and it turns out the thing is so tall and narrow that my d6s just jam up in the baffles every third roll, so I'm sitting there shaking it like a ketchup bottle while everyone at the table waits. My buddy Mike calls it the "dice coffin" now and honestly he's not wrong, it's been on my shelf untouched since October. Anyone else get talked into a fancy accessory at a con that just does not work at the table, or did I just pick the wrong carver?
