TIL I was misreading worker placement rules after 4 years of playing
I thought you could only place one worker per action space no matter what, but last Tuesday a buddy pulled out the rulebook at our weekly meetup in Austin and showed me the section about multiple workers on the same spot if your worker count is higher. That one rule changed how I saw every single game I played wrong since 2021. Has anyone else had a group sit on a misread rule that long?
Hold on, that rule doesn't really exist in most worker placement games. If you're talking about something like Lords of Waterdeep or Agricola, you place one worker per action space, period, and other players get blocked out. There are some games where a spot holds multiple workers, like Viticulture's grande worker or Caylus with the provost stuff, but it's game specific and not a "if your worker count is higher" catch all. Sounds like your buddy might've misread it too, or you're thinking of a spot that explicitly says it fits more than one meeple.
