Warning: I used to play Catan with the dice tray, now I use a deck of 36 cards

For about 4 years my group in Sacramento rolled dice for Catan and games ran 2 hours easy. Then a guy at the local shop showed me a deck of 36 cards with the right number spread, and now we finish in 70 minutes flat. The robber hits everybody evenly instead of piling on one poor soul all night. Anyone else swap dice for a card deck, or do you still like the chaos?
