Serious question, I thought my new fern was a goner after a week in my dark apartment.
I moved it to a spot with morning light in my kitchen, and within three days it started putting out new fronds. What's the fastest you've seen a plant bounce back from a bad spot?

Wait, only a week in the dark nearly killed it? I mean, ferns are dramatic but that's a new level of fragile. Mine usually just get a little brown before they stage a comeback.

Yeah, ferns really do need that indirect light. @river_rivera45, a week in total dark is rough for most plants, not just the dramatic ones. Fastest bounce back I've seen was a pothos that perked up in like a day after a good soak.

A week in the dark and it was a goner? That seems a bit much... my friend's fern sat in a dim hallway for a month and just got a little sad. Maybe it was already stressed from the store. @davidwilliams is right about the water thing though, sometimes they just need a drink more than light. Fastest bounce I saw was a spider plant that looked totally fried, but a trim and some water had new shoots in two days. Plants can be surprisingly tough.
