Pro tip: stop soaking your bricks in a barrel, a hose in the stack saved me 2 hours a day on a 6,000 brick job
Every crew I ran with for 8 years told me the soak barrel was non negotiable, but on a 6,000 brick job in Tucson I hosed the pallets down the night before and my mortar bond was just as good with way less mud on my gloves, anyone else tried skipping the barrel?
Did your buddy try wetting the pallets at night too? Mine did that on a small job and the top course still sucked the water dry by noon. He ended up just dunking the top few courses in a bucket and hosing the rest. Saved him a ton of time but he still wont fully ditch the barrel on hot days.
