Bought a $40 rice cooker at a Walmart in Tulsa to stop eating $9 fast food lunches, did the math last night
So I used to grab a chicken sandwich and fries almost every workday and never really added it up. Last month I finally did, and it came out to around $180. That is just lunch, nothing else. I grabbed a basic $40 rice cooker at the Walmart off Memorial in Tulsa and started making a big pot on Sunday nights. Rice, a can of beans, frozen veggies, and whatever cheap meat is on sale, and I portion it into five containers. Each lunch lands around $1.50 now, so the cooker paid for itself in under two weeks. The one catch is I have to actually cook on Sunday or I'm right back in the drive thru by Wednesday. Curious if you guys prep a whole pot or just make it fresh each night?
