Everyone told me to buy bulk rice and beans but that backfired on me

My neighbor kept pushing the whole rice and beans thing as the ultimate budget meal. I bought a 25 pound bag of pinto beans and a 20 pound sack of rice from Restaurant Depot. Ended up throwing half of it out after 8 months because we got sick of eating the same thing almost every night. Has anyone else found a way to make bulk staples actually work without getting bored?

Bulk buying only works when the food fits your actual life, not just your budget. Rotating a few cheap staples with seasonal produce or sauces keeps things interesting without losing the savings. The real trick is treating bulk staples as a base, not the whole meal plan.
