A bus driver in Oaxaca refunded me 50 pesos and it completely changed how I book travel now
I was standing at the ADO station in Oaxaca trying to buy a ticket to San Cristobal when I realized I was 50 pesos short in cash, and the driver just waved me on anyway and said 'paga me manana, amigo.' I never saw him again but I mailed the money to the station office with a note. Since then I always carry about 500 pesos in small bills for buses and street food instead of relying on my card. Does anyone else keep a dedicated cash stash for countries where cards get sketchy?
