A hostel in Lisbon charged me 4 euros for towel rental and that is when I finally started packing my own
I did the math on my last 3 week trip and those little rentals added up to almost 60 euros, so now I just carry a thin microfiber one that takes up no space, has anyone else gotten burned by these tiny fees that nobody warns you about?

Hostels in Amsterdam hit me for 5 euros just to use a locker, and then another 3 for a padlock because I forgot mine. That stuff adds up fast when you're moving cities every few days. I started bringing a small combo lock and a quick dry towel after that trip and it honestly paid for itself in like a week.
