I finally stopped booking flights months ahead and it's saving me real money
I used to book my flights in January for a trip in July because everyone told me that was the way to get cheap seats. Last month I looked at a flight from Chicago to Denver booked 5 months out for $310, then checked the same route 3 weeks before and it was $148. I tried waiting on two more trips after that and saved about $220 total. Turns out the early bird thing does not always work when the airline is just trying to fill empty seats late. Has anyone else noticed this, or did I just get lucky on those routes?
