Just realized the old cable guy who trained me in Akron taught me more in one ride-along than 2 weeks of class
His name was Ray and he had been pulling drops for 22 years when I rode with him back in March. On our third stop of the morning, a lady in a duplex kept apologizing for the mess in her hallway, and Ray told her "messy house just means somebody lives here, ma'am" and she laughed the rest of the visit. He ran her line clean around a door frame and under a rug without her asking twice. Later in the truck he told me the job is 20 percent cable and 80 percent people, and I have thought about that line on every service call since. What did your trainer say that stuck with you after you got out on your own routes?
