Still thinkin about that homeowner in Austin who watched me like a hawk

I was running coax through a crawlspace on a ranch house outside Austin last spring and the homeowner followed me room to room with a notebook. He kept saying "that cable better be spec when you terminate it" every 10 minutes. Anyone else run into customers who act like they know the job better than you do?

Man those homeowners are something else. I just hand them a basic rundown of the plan and my certs upfront now, usually shuts down most of the backseat driving. How do you handle folks who won't let you work?

Ever think some of these folks just need to feel like you actually heard them out before they can let you get to work? That little bit of listening upfront saves me a lot of grief later on the road.
