Unpopular opinion: the worst part of my job is fishing a pull string through a 40 foot wall packed with old insulation

Spent 3 hours on a Tuesday afternoon last month trying to get a line through a wall in this old house in Fresno, and every push rod I own just bent or snagged on something I could not see. Back in the day we had thinner rods and fewer wires jammed in these walls, so it was maybe a 20 minute job, not a full afternoon. Does anyone still carry a fish tape that actually holds up, or did you all switch to something else?
