Hit my 500th shutter replacement last Tuesday and sat in my chair for 10 minutes
I do repairs out of my garage in Fort Worth and I keep a little tally on the wall behind my bench. Last Tuesday I finished a 5D Mark III shutter and when I marked it I realized it was number 500. Sounds like a lot but it took me almost 7 years to get there, and 200 of those came in the last 18 months after a guy at the Dallas camera swap started sending me his overflow work. What got me is that I still feel like I'm guessing half the time on the tension screws, even after all that. I remember my first one took me 4 hours and I broke a flex cable, this last one was 50 minutes. I keep the broken cable in a jar on the shelf as a reminder. Any of you keep count of a specific repair type, and did the number ever sneak up on you like that?
